Any other landlords concerned by the planned out of town student developments in morfa and elsewhere. There was talk of something happening at the Rec ground a while ago but this seems to have gone quiet. Large developments of student flats have been build in Bristol and elsewhere but I am not sure if Swansea is right for this sort of thing in that if I was back at Uni I would want to be pretty close to campus and not too near town. My properties are in Brynmill so hopefully there will always be a demand, but it will be interesting to see how the next few years pan out if the big boys move in.

Hi John

I own 5 properties in Brynmill myself and a couple on Mount Pleasant and I am not concerned in the slightest about the new developments. I used to be a student at the Institute (Swansea Metropolitan uni) and although spent the odd night in town being close to campus was the main priority. I just can't see that many students wanting to be that far away.

I think the key factor here is that if you have decent well maintained properties in the right location they should always let. I am not convinced that there is a huge demand for these hotel room style units - I could be wrong, but I feel that there is still a huge demand for groups to be together living in a house.

Regards

Alison
